Born in the Echoes track “Wide Open” video by dom&nic stars Ex Machina actress Sonoya Mizuno.

The Chemical Brothers have shared their new music video for “Wide Open,” the Beck collaboration off their 2015 LP Born in the Echoes. The minimalist, expertly choreographed video finds a dancer slowly morphing from flesh to synthetic over the course of the five-minute clip. Sonoya Mizuno, last seen playing a robot in Ex Machina, fittingly plays the protagonist, as the video and that film share similar undertones.

The dom&nic-directed “Wide Open” continues The Chemical Brothers’ fascination with cyborgs in their recent slate of music videos, following their “Sometimes I Feel So Deserted” clip in August. The directorial duo have enjoyed a longtime collaboration with The Chemical Brothers, having also helmed their videos for “Setting Sun” and “Hey Boy Hey Girl.”

Born in the Echoes, The Chemical Brothers’ first LP in five years, earned a pair of Grammy nominations, with the album up for Best Dance/Electronic Album and the Q-Tip-featuring single “Go” nominated for Best Dance Recording. “We wanted to make a record that would fit alongside the other records we’ve made, and we both felt that there was another good Chemical Brothers album in us,” the duo told Rolling Stone of their new LP.
