Nickelodeon’s “Black History Month” campaign, directed by Seyi Peter-Thomas and set in Charleston, SC, received a Daytime Emmy nomination.
Nominated for “Outstanding Daytime Promotional Announcement – Brand Image Campaign,” the three-part series dives into the deep cultural roots of Charleston in honor of Black History Month. Seyi Peter-Thomas and Nickelodeon collaborated to research local heritage and hidden stories, and invited viewers to discover along with them. The films include traditions like basket-weaving, drumming, soul food, and the celebrated halls of the Avery Center.
